ATLANTIC BEACH, FL — The City of Atlantic Beach has officially launched FlashVote, a new civic engagement platform designed to give residents a quick, direct voice in local government decisions without disrupting their daily routines.
FlashVote delivers brief, scientific surveys directly to participating residents via email, text message, or voice call roughly once every few months. Each survey takes less than 60 seconds to complete and covers key community topics, including park improvements, road maintenance, public safety initiatives, and municipal events.
"We know life gets busy. We also know local input remains essential to building a stronger community,” said City Manager Kevin Hogencamp. “FlashVote makes civic participation convenient, enabling residents to share their perspectives on municipal decisions whenever and wherever it works for them -- no long evening meetings required.”
Key features of the FlashVote platform include:
- Quick and Accessible: Surveys take less than one minute to complete from any phone, tablet, or computer.
- Full Transparency: Complete, anonymized survey results and data summaries are available to the public within 48 hours after a survey closes, allowing participants to see community sentiment in real time.
- Privacy and Security: Personal information and individual responses remain strictly confidential and are never shared or sold.
City leadership will use the gathered data to inform policy choices, budget priorities, and project planning across departments.
