“There is so much hope that has now come out of it. There’s hope in the new chapter,” Akers said. “We can’t ever forget that first word ‘community’ in community theater.
Some days are easier than others, and some days are not. The purpose of the book is to help people navigate their situation and keep their memory alive.
“The Fourth of July was what we always considered our anniversary. We closed in February 1997,” said daughter Tammie Faircloth. “It was a good run, especially for an all-ages venue. To last that long is a feat in itself.”
