As the beaches prepare for the Fourth of July weekend, the Beaches Veterans Memorial Park has launched a new website, www.BVMPFL.org. The new site gives the community an updated way to learn about the memorial’s history, honor local veterans and support the nonprofit’s mission.
Jacksonville Beach officials recently conducted an annual review of the city’s Code of Ethics. The City Council adopted the Code of Ethics in February 2020.
Gov. Ron DeSantis signed Florida's FY2026-27 budget Monday at $117.6 billion, after issuing roughly $810 million in line-item vetoes for his final budget as governor. The total budget is about $600 million less than last year's. For Atlantic Beach, the outcome was a split decision.
The City Commission voted 4-1 in favor of the starting annual salary following an unconventional discussion that included a question-and-answer session with Hogencamp, the former interim city manager. Commissioner Thomas Grant cast the sole dissenting vote.
