Three candidates for the Duval County School Board's District 2 seat will meet Beaches voters at a candidate forum next month, ahead of the Aug. 18 primary.
Beaches Watch is sponsoring the forum, set for 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at Community Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, 150 Sherry Drive, Atlantic Beach. It is free and open to the public.
Donovan Bradley, Terence Myers and Donna Westrich, the three candidates on the District 2 primary ballot, have all confirmed they will attend. The forum will give voters a chance to hear directly from the candidates on their platforms and positions on Duval County school issues before they head to the polls.
"Beaches Watch promotes citizen education on local issues and participation in local government," Beaches Watch President Maria Mark said. "The election of our school board representative is important to ensure our beaches schools, teachers, and students have representation on the Duval County school board. Through this forum, voters can learn more about the candidates and make an informed decision when they vote."
