letcher High School's volleyball team is off to a 2-1 start overall after 3-0 sweeps on the road against Bartram Trail High School and Oakleaf High School. The Lady Senators dropped a heartbreaking five-set match at Bolles that lasted 2 hours and 45 minutes.
Junior setter Juliette Watson, an Appalachian State commit, leads the Senators with 100 assists so far this season. She has also tallied nine total blocks and six service aces.
In the middle, Fletcher has two big weapons for head coach Mark McGiveron: 6-foot junior Riley Bridda, who has 24 kills and 12 total blocks, and Bishop Kenny transfer Chelsea Akakatang, a Florida A&M commit, who has matched Bridda with 24 kills and 12 total blocks of her own.
Fletcher opens its 2026 home schedule Thursday, Aug. 27, against Trinity Christian. All varsity match times are 7 p.m. this fall.
